I had a hell of a time picking out a bag for my new laptop. I didn’t want something overly bulky, but I did want it to have a decent amount of protective padding. And it absolutely had to have a shoulder strap. I finally decided on this bag mostly because it mentioned the exact model of laptop I had purchased, a laptop that was just a bit thicker than the inside dimensions of many of the slim bags I’d looked at.Overall, it’s not a bad bag, and the price is great. However, despite the thick protective padding on the sides of the bag, the bottom of the bag lacks any real protection for my laptop. In the past, when I’ve managed drop my bagged laptop, it always landed on a bottom or corner, so this is concerning. The second issue I have is with the shoulder strap. I don’t carry my laptop around a whole lot, usually just from my home to my car and from my car into my workplace. But this strap is sadly basic. It’s a strap, and that’s it. No padded piece where it sits on your shoulder, nothing to make it the least bit comfortable to use. I think I’ll see if I can remove that padded part from my old laptop bag and slide it onto this one. Otherwise, I’m quite sure it’s going to be uncomfortable to use for very long, and it will almost certainly slide right off my shoulder much more easily.In the end, I can pretty confidently say I wouldn’t purchase this laptop bag again. It’s certainly affordable, but it doesn’t really provide the protection and ease of use I’d like. I’ll probably use it only as long as it takes to convince myself that I can afford to spend more money on something much better.
