I went from a relatively new MSI GF63 to the Tuf to get a quicker graphics card. I use my laptop mainly for software engineering and some 3D design work but I do enjoy games, especially VR. It obviously performs well with the basic tasks I needed but in games and VR particularly it is excellent. I am able to play most VR games (Half Life Alyx, Star Wars Squadrons etc) through an Oculus Quest in Rift compatibility mode (using Steam) without a hitch. The fans kick in and it gets warm but it handles everything I throw at it. The keyboard is laid out at a good size and the included number pad is way better. It's much more solid feeling than the MSI was which cost nearly twice as much.I added an additional 8GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD which helped even more. My only gripe is likely driver related. My mouse inputs, using the mouse pad or a Logitech M570 trackball are sometimes slow to respond and stutter quite a bit. There's no obvious reason or correlation that I can see so far.The Ryzen processor is an absolute champ. Paired with a GTX2060, this laptop delivers big performance at a great price. Google search “gaming laptops under $1,000” and you’ll find this laptop is consistently topping reviewers’ charts. Most other laptops around this price point offer GTX1060’s, maybe a 1060Ti. If you do find another one with a GTX2060, it will be paired with an inferior AMD or Intel processor. Ultimately, this laptop is outperforming others that are a couple to a few hundred dollars more.Yes, the 60hHz screen is a little weak, but if you’re serious about gaming, video editing, etc you’ll be using an external monitor anyhow. Asus also saves costs by only giving you 8gb ram in this setup, but for less than $150 you can upgrade to 32gb.The only drawback I can find is that the fans are very loud when you ask this laptop to do something graphically intensive. But that’s a small price to pay for some great hardware in this laptop. The Ryzen 7 4800H paired with the GTX2060 is just an awesome combo; highly recommend! We purchased an ASUS computer in Jan of 2021. Less that 16 months later the computer is unfixable. The first sign of problem was when the battery would not last more than 45 minutes. We purchased a new battery and that still did not resolve the problem. We took the computer to a repair shop and found out the mother board was bad. Apparently the computer's cooling system was not working properly and the heat generated by the computer fried the mother board. The price to replace the the mother board and repair the cooling system was too high to justify fixing the computer. ASUS refuses to stand by their product because it is past the one year warranty.GREAT laptop, absolutely. HOWEVER:Apparently this laptop doesn't support XMP, so Asus advertising all over the place that this laptop is upgradeable and supports 3200 mhz ram is kind of a BS gray area. I bought 32GB of 3200mhz ram from crucial, and it runs 2666mhz, NOTHING I can do... This is a problem because it makes the infinity fabric on the Ryzen processor run slower. So it's bogging down the entire laptop. I'm a PC enthusiast, so this makes me very angry. I will update my review if Asus resolves this. Until then, I'm pretty disappointed. I just try not to think about it.El único problema es que el mousepad falla de vez en cuando, se debe desactivar y volver a activar para que funcione bien.No cambiaria mi laptop por nada, recupere la inversion con trabajos y luego la disfrute en todas mis anchasIt works great, the keyboard feels very comfortable, the sound is DTS and it sounds good for my taste and loud. It is compact, easy to clean and easy to transport. It also has one of the best AMD Ryzen 7 processors and good NVIDIA RTX graphics. She's a gamer and an avid anime lover. I don't know much about computers but she seems to love it.
